The Rumored Airstrike

July 10th, 2006 · No Comments

The Ecuadorian captain grew increasingly anxious over rumours of an impending air strike from neighbouring Peru.

“Pedro,” he ordered his aide, “I want you to climb that mountain and report any signs of Peruvian military activity.”

“Si, Capitano!” Pedro humped it up the mountain, and just after crossing the ridge he saw a squadron of planes in the distance, heading their way.

He immediately radioed back, “There are many planes coming, Capitano!”
“Are they friends or enemies?” the Captain demanded.

Pedro lifted his binoculars again to the sky. “They’re flying very closely together, Capitano,” he replied. “I think they must be friends.”
