Blind Skydiver

July 4th, 2006 · No Comments

One day a newspaper reporter went to interview a blind sky diver. “So, tell me, how do you manage to get out of the plane?” the reporter asked.

“Oh, easy,” said the skydiver, “they stand me in the doorway, put the rip cord ring in my hand and tell me when to jump.”

“That’s great, but how do you know when to pull the cord?”

“Well, I have a sense of smell like you wouldn’t believe; I can smell the trees and grass at about 400 feet or so and then I pull the ripcord.”

The reporter is impressed. “Wow. How do you know when to flex your knees and prepare to land?”

“You know, that’s the easiest part of all - just before I hit the ground the dog’s leash will go slack.”
